Hormones 3 The Final Season EP.9 "Testosterone" Live Recap

Sun, cast on his arm, wakes up to his phone alarm in his car; he seems to be parked outside school. He's still dressed from his night out. He changes into school clothes, brushes his teeth, etc.

A table at school. Non does product placement for BRAND'S, and then he and Pala see First (on a single crutch) come in with Oil.

"Is it manageable?" -- "Yeah, it is," says First.

Non "announces" First as the winner of the 400m race. He gives him the medal at Pala's pleading.

First: "What's up with you two? OK, thanks."

Oil is just sitting there. Then Pang and Jane come up. Interaction between Pang and Non is awkward.

The girls will leave. Non says they'll take care of "Oil's boyfriend" themselves.

Jane, surprised: "You're dating?"

Awkward pause. Pang also doesn't seem to know. And we know what she thinks about First.

Oil just says they'll leave.

Student council meeting with Teacher Ping. Teacher Ping says they already talked about the homework-reduction policy before (with Boss), about how hard it is, etc.

Boss, laying it on thick more than once: "It's too bad we put this policy in, isn't it? ... Isn't it too bad that we do all this work, work so hard, make so many sacrifices, to make sure things get to how Non announced it, and all our work is lost, we can't get things done on time."

Pang asks what are the consequences of not following through on all their election promises. Teacher Ping talks to her encouragingly. Then he leaves the students on their own.

Boss, laying it on thick: "Good luck, Kanompang."

Pang calls Boss out on saying that they were going to work together, but now he's more like a crazy person with his intentions.  Boss says she is focusing too much on him. KNP says that if Boss' intentions have changed this much, maybe he is not fit for the student council. Boss suggests, then, a vote to see if Boss should be in the student council. Pang is shocked, horrified.

"But never mind, no need for a vote. I'll resign myself," says Boss. Then he teases them about the budget again. "Bye!" he says.

Krieng yells at him. He leaves.

Pang tries to make things better after this.

Siam Center. Sun on the phone with Mali. He bought something (a shirt) for Mali. Then he spots a 35ish-year-old woman. They exchange looks.

Phao runs up. He talks with Sun. Sun invites Phao to play with the band on the day of Loy Krathong (Light Festival on the full moon in November). I missed Sun's gesture, but I think part of the reason is Sun's injury (?).

The older woman, named KungKing, comes up and introduces herself. She is interested in a dinner (date) with him. Sun says he's not available for the day, but she insists. She has a proposition for him.

Eating dinner. Sun and the older woman (P'KungKing) talk. She talks about how he hasn't eaten much; he can eat up, she's buying. She explains what she was doing; she was looking for "kids" at Siam. Then she found him! He asks if she's flirting with him. He clarifies that many people are flirting with him, so this might not be so easy.

It seems that things are not exactly as we -- and Sun -- assumed. KK asks Sun if he wants a job: come out, eat, be paid. It's like a job: "friend to hang with" = escort service (without sex -- clarified later in Sun's google search). KK believes Sun would be good at this kind of work, because he can talk well with people, fit in, etc. She'll take a photo of him and give it to the customers, to see if they are happy with him. She gives him plans and terms.

At home, Sun finds on the internet that this job doesn't involve sex, but it really involves going out with people (e.g., watching a film together).

Sun gets a message, then he asks his parents' permission to go out. He gets it. He leaves.

He goes out to a mall and approaches the wrong person on his first try. Then he gets found by a very older woman, P'TukTa. She is even older than P'KungKing!

"You're even cuter than your picture," she says.
"Thanks, where do you wanna go?"
She shows him movie theatre tickets.
"OK, uh, well, let's go," says Sun.

In the theatre, she makes a move on his hand. Then she leans closer. Then she puts her head on his shoulder.

Sun convinces her to go into a club with him. She thinks it won't be as fun with her, but he insists.

P': "If I want to hire you to be a boyfriend for some time, are you free?"
Sun: "Boyfriend? Can I talk to P'KungKing first?"
"Don't worry about that. I'll talk to her myself. But if you're not OK, that's fine."
"What's involved?"
"Like today. But with a bit more. And you cannot be free to be dating anyone else at the time."
"So what price can I set?"
"What do you want?"
"1000 baht per hour."
"No problem."
"Really?"
"Really. So from now on we're a couple. Take care of me."
"OK, let's go in [to the club]."
They do.

In the club, someone asks Sun if he's seeing anyone. He has to indicate yes (I think, not sure on the gesture).

P'TukTa is standing outside. So Sun goes to find her. He emphasizes that he's her boyfriend and will take good care of her. He apologizes for not taking full care of her. She insists they use the right pronouns (in Thai) for lovers. He eventually has to kiss her cheek to get the problem resolved.

At school, Non is at a table by himself. Ter comes up, asks if Non is drawing. The conversation reveals that Non has heard that Boss has resigned, too.

Ter asks Non why he's avoiding someone or not making good eye contact. "Just joking," says Ter. "If you like her, make a move. I'm fine with things."

"Never mind, I'm OK," says Non. "Are you really OK? Is there anything I can do to make things OK?"

Ter says, "What about being my boyfriend?"

Non's reaction is pained.

Ter: "See? Don't say things that you can't follow up on."

In a few seconds, Non queries: "Ter, what did I do that made you think I was gay?"

"Huh?" says Ter. [skip -- maybe] "If I speak directly, don't get mad. Well, sometimes when I talk with you, it's like there's more meaning to things."

"I'm sorry, man. I really didn't mean anything. I don't want this to be a big deal between us. I just want happiness. I hope. Are you going to give up on me?"

"As for other people, that might happen. But as for me, I'll be your friend. Now, go get Kanompang! Go! Now. Go now. She's over there. There. Go." He encourages him without end.

"Thanks, Ter."

Non leaves to go talk to KNP. He arrives with food at her table. He hands sweet things to her, lots and loots of sweet things.

[skip due to internet]

Non is dancing now for KNP. She is embarrassed (?) and not laughing. He tells her to eat up, then, while its still cold.

Pang: "What's this for? An apology?"

Non: "Yes... For Sports Day."

"That's it?"

"Is there more?" (uh-oh look on his face)

"Your resignation. What were you thinking?"

"Taking responsibility."

Eventually Pang says to never mind. He needs to come back and help them. But she forbids Non to hit anyone else and get into a fight. She makes him promise.

"If you wanna hit anyone, hit yourself instead."

"That's crazy!" says Non. Then he jokingly hits himself. He adds: "Are we OK now?"

"Nope."

"Why?"

"There's too much food to finish," says Pang.

Mali texts Sun to ask if his hand is OK yet. Phao and Robot come up [skip due to internet -- my internet seems to like skipping over parts with Phao and Robot].

Sun comes home late. His mom yells at him for being out so late. Dad brushes it all off.

Sun brought food home, he says. He gives it to them; this is why he was so late, getting this good food.

"See, Mom, I told you not to worry about him," says Dad.

Sun leaves to go do schoolwork.

"Go quickly to bed when you're done!" says Mom.

Sun listens to music in the shower.

After his shower, he checks his phone and then calls Jane.

"Why'd you call?" asks Jane.

Sun: "Oh, I dunno. Oh, right. About schoolwork. Can you help me?"

"Fine."

He climbs into his bed. He smiles and watches the phone as Jane explains things. Does Sun like Jane? Or not? His smile is big, and he's not doing any schoolwork while Jane instructs him. He just listens to her voice.

Sun is cleaning up the classroom after school (putting chairs atop the desks). Jane comes and asks if he's done. Sun pretends he needs help. Jane says she knows it doesn't hurt that much.

Sun gets a message on the phone. Jane asks what he's doing. Sun says work. Jane asks what work. Sun says he's not telling.

In the end, Sun says he's a "friend to hang with." Jane doesn't know what that is. In reply, Sun explains there's a fee per hour (Jane's face, LOL!) -- and it's not like that (!). He then explains it's a service like any other service. He doesn't serve anything but love itself. He doesn't do anything wrong. He's only doing his responsibility. It's what's expected of him.

Jane still finds this questionable.

"Well, but if you were my boyfriend, and I did that, how would you feel?" says Jane.
"But we're not together!"
"It was an example."
[skip]
They tease each other about the price they'd get.
"Whatcha smiling at?" asks Jane.
"Let me see the 5000-baht face," teases Sun.

"And that table you're sitting on -- clean it up before you leave," Sun says; then he thanks Jane for the tutoring that "he can now do." Then he leaves.

Karaoke at a big party. Sun sings with his escort "date" (P'TukTa).

They talk outside.

"Thank you very much, for making me so happy," she says.
"My pleasure."
"Do you know? I've never had a good boyfriend. I never knew what I did wrong... I've always been alone... [skip] You make it so that I can continue on. Thank you for making things have meaning. I don't regret the money at all."
They hug.

Sun is out with another woman, then a man, then a woman (who tries to get into his pants, but he stops her).

..

Zomzom and Mali stop on the motorcycle. They see Sun with a woman at a cafe across the street. Zomzom: "Get it straight with him: what exactly is your relationship? You don't dare to? If you don't do it, I will."

"No, please, don't," says Mali.

They drive off.

Sun arrives for SeeScape practice. Phao, A, Ryo, and Seua are already there. Phao is helping with vocals as well as playing.

Sun interrupts their first practice songs to get his phone. "Just a sec," he says. They resume. Then he keeps looking at the phone to get the words.

A is really not impressed. Neither is Ryo. A calls off the practice. Ryo and A ask if he practises; Sun says every day. Then why, they ask, does he get so many notes wrong?

Sun: "Everyone gets things wrong sometimes."
Ryo: "Look, Sun. Phao just came, but he's trying."
"I'm working at it, too," says Sun.
A: "Well, your level of work and mine aren't compatible." He puts away his bass and walks out. Sun is stunned.

Dao with Elle at a tutoring school. There is some teasing about Koi being a girlfriend and Elle a friend. Elle leaves.

A guy comes up to Dao and asks for... Elle's number! She gives it. But just then Elle and Koi come in to see them talking and exchanging a phone number.

Elle: "What? He wants her number?"

Dao delays too long in joking about it and chases Koi out when she gets upset.

"Koi, he wanted Elle's number. I was just joking. Nothing more."
"That's it?"
"I didn't know it would bother you that much."
"It's my fault. I'll get over it. Just a moment."
"Koi, if there's something, just tell me. Is there something now?"
"Just now, I thought about what Dad said. One day I might lose you. You might meet someone you like, that this thing isn't real, it's just a phase. But as for myself, I said I was so sure. I said it wouldn't happen to me..."
Dao: "But see, we're together now."
"But I see that you might go back to liking guys. And how would I be then? I'm sorry. I don't seem confident in you, right? But don't think about it much. I'll get better. I'll get over it. Let's go back to the classroom."
She leaves on her own initiative. Dao follows her.

Sun arrives at a tutoring school. Zomzom and friends are there. (Later, First and Pala are revealed to be present in the background, too.)

Sun to Zomzom: "Oh, you study here, too?"
ZZ: "The girl yesterday, the one you were feeding ice cream -- who was she?"
"An older friend."
"How many people are you talking with?"

The argument continues until ZZ challenges: "Why don't you just tell us all. Let us all hear. We'll know that you're not only short, but you're also ___ (sounds like 'short')."

Sun: "I'm talking and hanging with several people. I don't know who I'll be with, who I'll officially date."

ZZ brings out a photo, with a photo of Mali and Sun kissing at the cross-river ferry. ZZ: "And this [photo of Sun with Mali, kissing]?"

Sun: "Well, we're not together. We both have the right to see other people? Either of us, me, her, we can."

Then they bring Mali out. Zomzom says that unless Sun makes it clear to Mali whether he likes her, she'll hit him. Make it clear, now!

Sun: "I like her... but not to that extent."

Mali is heartbroken. She runs away.

"I'm sorry, Mali!" he calls after her.

"Don't mess with my little sister again," says Zomzom threateningly. Mali, ZZ, and friends leave.

..

Sun arrives to meet another client. P'KungKing puts a bow on him and strips him down. He is shirtless. She even takes off his bandage. ("It's better, right?")

Dressed like more (less!) than his usual style of "escort," Sun goes into the room -- what will he find?

What does Sun find behind the curtain? A whole pool full of women, drinking, playing in the water.

They all handle him and get him to down lots of drinks. They strip him to his undershorts and thrown him into the water. He drinks more. He crawls on the floor. He's drunk as a skunk. Eventually, he collapses. Silence.

..

"Young man! Young man! Sign here." It's dark and this is what we hear.

Sun wakes up in a police station to see a police officer trying to get someone else to sign something. He's still half-naked. His parents are talking to the police.

They come out.

"What happened?" asks Sun.

Dad confiscates the car keys.

No conversation. Sun runs after them.

It's quiet in the car going home, too.

Sun picks up his phone and sees a video of himself last night. It's bad.

..

They arrive home. Sun waits for Dad to say something.

Dad still won't say anything, just confiscate stuff.

Sun cries.

Doctor: "Pala, you're stronger now than before, right? Are you taking the medicine on time and according to schedule? Continue like this and everyone will see HIV isn't so scary after all."
