The Jungle Book 2 is in the making and release in October 2018
You know a movie is doing well when it already has a sequel in the making even though it hasn't finished its run in the cinemas.
In fact, Disney's live-action adaptation of "The Jungle Book" has only opened last week in certain territories excluding the likes of North America, China and Cambodia, which will only be seeing the movie this week.
However, according to The Hollywood Reporter, the studio is already developing a follow-up to the fantasy adventure movie.
Director Jon Favreau revealed that he and writer Justin Marks are currently in talks with Disney to return for the sequel.
Favreau will also be producing again with Brigham Taylor.
The recently-released, or soon to be released – depending on where you are in the world, "The Jungle Book" follows Mowgli (Neel Sethi) on his journey of self-discovery, accompanied by a bear named Baloo (Bill Murray) and panther named Bagheera (Ben Kingsley).
The movie also stars Idris Elba, Scarlett Johansson, Lupita Nyong'o, Christopher Walken and more, with Favreau himself voicing the character Pygmy Hog.
While Disney may be confident with its "Jungle Book" reboot, Warner Bros. has yet again pushed back its own Andy Serkis-helmed motion capture version of the book-to-movie adaptation, which is now slated for release in October 2018.
